Business:

1. Remember Sign up sheet is outside the main office. Please remember to sign up for ONE time slot per child. This is for the kindergarten end of the year assessment! available on May 1st- Thursday.

2. 5th grade program is on April 30th--wed! Come and support them at 2:!5am.

4. Attendance matters---please make sure your child is on time and try not to miss school :)

5. The famous baby classroom chicks all went home to good families! Thanks for volunteering to take care of them :)

Agenda:

1. Chinese---We will finish up our pets units with FROG---SNAKE and we will review the pets unit! We will start the 'food unit this week too!' look out for audio clips!

2. Math---We will start +3 and -3, we will teach this concept together and mix up the questions, please tell your child to look at the sign!!!

3. Science--We are still continuing our living things unit :)

4. TEST on PETS UNIT--(refer to audio clips)

1. Baby chicks hatched :) yay! The kids were super excited! So was I! We are keeping them a week longer!

2. Being kind and not physical (we talked about that all year long, see previous posts)

3. Sign up sheet for individual end of the year testing will be available next week (1st of may-thurs)  outside the main office. Will remind you next week again.

4. Hope you have been already revising with your kids on the different topics for the end of the year testing, please emphasize checking and NOT rushing.

1. Chinese---Pets unit
We will start it today, please refer to audio clip on the pronunciation!

2. Math-- The kids are able to do what makes 10 (without blocks) we will keep reviewing with them until more kids know it without using blocks. Also, we will review +1 +2 / -1 -2

3. Science: We will review the chicken life cycle and continue our livings things unit.

Good Morning Parents,

Business:

1. Our cute chicken eggs arrive today. We will learn about the lifecycle of a chicken...well the simple version (egg, baby chick and chicken) and watch a video on hatching. I am sure the kids will be excited:) Thanks for keeping this a secret.

2. The kids had fun dyeing Easter eggs on Friday, the dyes are cool-aid so they might have smelt fruity and delicious! They had fun with the Easter egg hunt too:)

3. watch out for the study guide on the end of the year assessment for kindergarten (coming by email)

This week schedule...

Business:

1. We will have a Easter eggs dyed party on Friday 11th April 2014.
Please make sure that your child brings 2 HARD-BOILED EGGS ( no more no less!) (no raw eggs please)
We will dyed easter eggs in my classroom, I will provide the dye (still deciding between food dye or cool-aid), we will decorate the eggs with stickers and we will make a box/ nest for the eggs to rest in.
I do NOT have extra eggs!

*also we will have an Easter egg hunt in my classroom for our cute kids!

2. We are getting ready for baby chicks to come to our class the following week (april 14th) to be exact. Parents that emailed me, be ready that week to come or send another adult with a box to pick up your chick/s. I will email you again for reminders.
*please keep this a surprise for the kids! thanks

2. Math---These kiddos are so great with what makes 10? This week we will keep practicing and try to do it without the 10 blocks.

3. Science--We will learn about living things. (their characteristics)

The sign up sheet for the end of the year assessment will be available outside the office on the table the beginning of May. Be sure to sign up then, only one time slot per child.

*also remember to review the bugs vocabulary with them! Test coming very soon....

END of the YEAR ASSESSMENT!!!!

Parents,

We are having the end of the year assessment, the test will be in ENGLISH!!! There are 2 parts to this testing, group testing and individual testing!  Please READ BELOW!

• Kindergarten Skills Inventory for traditional schools:
• Whole class/small group testing--May 5-16
• Individual testing--May 20-21 (no school)
• Regular class schedule except for May 20-22, when students come in only for individual appointments (Monday, May 19, and Friday, May 23, are both regular class days for all kindergarten students).
