field day tommorow

Parents!

We have a fun field trip today! Thank you to all parent volunteers that came and helped!

Field Day!
(please see email for details)

We have 2 parent volunteers each for AM class and PM class.

ALL STUDENTS come at 12:30pm tomorrow and wait at their normal area (near the front doors to be picked up)

Mrs Christensen will pick up the PM class and Cuiyan (my aide) will pick up the AM class.

Each class will be divided into 2 groups each.

Parent volunteers will be one group each. Please make sure to watch your group.

There are 4 stations outside and students will be rotated to all 4 stations.

3:15pm is when field day is done! please make sure all students return to class. AM class to my classroom, PM class to Mrs Christensen classroom. Students can drink water and rest/ cool off in the classroom.

3:25pm class is dismissed :)

I wont be in school thurs and Friday! Good luck!

Good Morning Parents,

Today is my last day of work in Stewart Elementary :) I will be moving to California :)
I am so grateful for each and everyone of you for your support, thoughtfulness and kindness!
Thank you for being patient with me this year. Thank you kind parent volunteers for helping me in and out of the classroom! Thank you for your kind donations of different items and time for our class.Thank you, Thank you!

Your kids are amazing and I have seen the huge growth in them, they are so ready for 1st grade next year! I wish them the best of luck in school!

Don't forget, field day tomorrow, I will email you later today on more information.
Also, Friday is meet and greet the 1st grade teachers.

ps, the blog will be up for you all to access soundcloud for the summer!

pps, if you can let me tell the kids today is my last day, that would be great:) I will tell them after the field trip!

next week is the LAST week of school YAY!

Parents!

A BIG thank you to this whole school year! This year has been a great year, THANK YOU to ALL parent volunteers whether you are in the classroom helping, or helping us with stuff at home or helping us whenever :) THANK YOU!

Few things to remember next week:

1. Monday-26th May is a holiday--Memorial day! There is NO SCHOOL!
2. Tuesday is regular class day
3.Wednesday is our field trip day to wheeler farm, Please take note of the following:
a) Make sure your child wears COVERED comfortable shoes (For walking!)
b) brings a small sack for lunch, brown paper bags or ziplock bags work best (we have to put lunches in parents volunteers backpack) So please NO metal/plastic/cloth lunchboxes! thanks~
c) Make sure your child arrives ON TIME to school at 8:45am---AM and PM class (The bus will leave on time and will not wait for late comers)
d) Also, we will be back in school at 1:30pm, please make sure you come EARLY or ON TIME to pick your child up. There will not be anymore school/classes for our kindergarteners.
e) please talk to your child about good and safe behaviors on field trips (listening to teachers/parents, not running around, staying with their group, not yelling, shouting in the bus or in wheeler farm etc)

* Parent volunteers that have been notified and have kindly agree to help on the field trip. THANK YOU! Please make sure you come on time or EARLY at 8:45am on wed, so that we can brief you quickly on the field trip. Please make sure you bring a backpack (to carry some sacked lunch)

4. Thursday is field day, that means there is like water activities for the whole school, make sure to send your child with a towel and clothes they can get wet, more information to come on the time....

5. Friday is Meet and Greet their 1st grade English teacher Mrs Mullins and their Chinese teacher Yao Lao Shi, school will be dismissed at their usual time. AM class 10:50am and PM class 1:25pm

6. Also, please make sure your child brings their backpack so that we can put their paperwork/file/ name cards etc in them and they will not get lost.

7. Grades for 4th term and End of the Year assessment will be sent home on Tuesday.
 NO BACKPACK/BLUE FOLDER= no grades send home!

Green slips and things to note:

Good MOrning Parents,

Please remember to turn in the green permission slips for wheeler farm (class field trip)

Also, remember there is no school this tues, wed and Thursday.
Regular class schedule is today and Friday.

Things to note for the end of the year assessment:
1. Please come early or on time for your schedule time slot.
2. Parents have to kindly wait outside while your child is being tested.
3. Make sure your child has a good night rest and a good breakfast/lunch before testing.

Don't worry, the test is all on materials and things we have learned so far:)

Parents,

I will be sending home a GREEN permission slip form for the field trip to wheeler farm.
Please sign it and return only the BOTTOM part to me  by Monday 19th May.

NO forms = cannot go on field trip!

The volunteer form will be given later (after testing is done)

There might have been some confusion for the dates when the kids don't have classes next week.

NO CLASS FROM 20th May to 22th May (tues,wed,thurs)

TESTING is on 20th and 21th May (tues and wed)

REGULAR CLASS SCHEDULE is on MONDAY and FRIDAY

We will be reviewing and getting ready for the individual assessment next week. YAY!

Please make sure to refer to the post END of the year assessment dated april 2nd on when the assessments are and when the kids DO NOT have school.

Business:

1. Please read my email that I sent you this morning.

2. End of the year assessment (Group testing) is from May 5 (today) to May 16th, it can be anytime between then!
Parents have to wait outside and doors will be close! Please revise with your child!

3. Please remember to sign up for the individual end of year assessment outside the office asap.

4. Bring a picture of your child:)

5. Field trip to Wheeler Farm is on May 28th--Wednesday. We have a lot of volunteers that want to be on the field trip. Please be understanding as we try to accommodate BUT we have a limited amount of people on the bus. More information will come when testing is over.

6. We have Book Fair this week from 6th-8th of May (tues,wed,thurs) so come and support the school!

7. KINDNESS---Please talk to your child about being nice, and not tease others!

Agenda:

1. Chinese---We will finish up the food vocabulary! Refer to my audio clips on vocab.

2. Math-- We will keep practicing our addition and subtraction, shapes 2D, 3D, colors, things we have learn this year.

3. Science--We will start out non-livings unit.

4. Test on FOOD UNIT.. Please revise with them.
