spring break and the agenda
HI parents,
Enjoy Spring Break!
Business:
1. Spring break is from march 28th to april 1st. Please come back to school on the 2nd of april! Thanks!
2. Class photos will be on april 3rd, Thursday. Please make sure that your child is looking extra sharp and wears appropriate clothing. There will be no retakes.
Agenda---short week of 3 days
1. Chinese--We will finish up the bugs unit (we are left with praying mantis and ant)
2. Maths---we will start what and what makes 10 (for example ___+ ___=10? )
3. TEST--- on the bugs unit

Business:
1. 3rd grade class--Mr Butler's class will be doing an ukulele assembly on wed-march 26th at 9:15am. You are welcome to watch!
2. There is NO school this Friday-March 28th-April 1st-tuesday ( its not a joke!). Enjoy Spring break, school will start back on April 2nd-wednesday.
3. Please feel free to come to me if you have questions, concerns etc. Thank you awesome parent volunteers who come and help in the classroom. Remember to keep things that you see/hear/do/help in the classroom confidential. If another parent approaches and ask you about their child, please please please refer that back to me. I don't want any misunderstandings to occur. Please refer back to the volunteer agreement that you sign in the office (last year) with the secretaries in the office.
4. Since it is spring break and things are starting to slow down,I do not need any volunteers everyday, just only on Mondays, I really don't have much to do other than sharpening pencils, wiping down items and filing. So if you cannot make it other than Monday, don't feel bad. Thank you for faithfully helping!
5. March 27th is the end of 3rd term!! Times flies!

1. Chinese- we will be revising all the words that we have learnt recently and in the past ( vegetables, fruits, 2D shapes, 3D shapes, colors, tastes, ocean animals etc) refer to the audio clips on my blog.
We will be learning on bugs! Watch out for audio clips!
2. Math-- we will review +2 and -2
Worksheets will now have +2 and -2 on them, please remind your child to watch for the sign!
3. Social studies---we will be learning how to contribute to our community!
4. TEST this week on +2 and -2--Math

next week is wellness week and our agenda

We have wellness week next week, please support by having your child wear or do:
Monday - wear green
and Tuesday and the rest of the week, I will update you as there will be changes!
Business:
1. Recess rocks in April will only be held in the AM recess (Sorry PM class!)
2. Birthday invitations! Please help me talk to your child about NOT handing them out in school (See email for details)
3. Box Tops--we need more!
4. Name Calling and kindness--We talked about this a lot of times, the latest thing is some children are name calling others mean names/things ,please please talk to them about being kind! (see previous posts on kindness!)

Shark--Whale--Dolphin--
2. Math---we will start -2

shorter post for next week time table
Parents,
We had a great week so far! I am trying to do shorter posts from now on. :)
Business:
1. We have the 4th grade program next Wednesday-March 12th at 9:15am and at 2:15pm (for the parents and our PM kindergarten) You are most welcome to watch.
2. Please review previous posts on running! ( inside and outside of the classroom)
3. Please review the chart below on how to write the numbers correctly in Chinese, I noticed a few errors
*on the number 5, I noticed that my original post on it was wrong (oops! sorry!) the tail has to be sticking out from the left side.
*number 8, the 2 strokes has to be not touching each other, I told the kids it has kind of like drawing a triangle
* number 7, the dash has to be slanted like a 45 degrees ( on a protractor), there must be a dash drawn.
Agenda!
1. Chinese-- We are going to start learning about sea animals! I will post up the audio clips on Monday. This unit will be taught for 2 weeks.
(dolphin--fish--sea turtle- sea lion---star fish--shark--whale)
2. Math--We will start +2.
*please refer to old post on how to draw circles for that except that now it is +2 instead of +1
*please make sure they draw their circles CLEARLY and NOT OVERLAPPING other circles.
Dots/numberline--we will move on to 90 now. woohoo!
3. Art---We are going to make a cool project that is sensory:)
4. CHINESE TEST-- on how to write/read Chinese numbers, ( I am amazed at how much these kids know their Chinese numbers from 1-10) For the test, they must be able to read the numbers and write the numbers!

audio clips for math 1-10
Parents,
We will start learning today on recognizing, writing and reviewing how to count 1-10 in Chinese. The main focus in learning to write and recognize these numbers.
Please review with them the audio clips, we will learn 2 numbers a day, on Friday we should have learn all 10 numbers (from 1-10), Please review with them the audio clips and how to write and recognize these characters.
