CHINESE TEST WAS ON TUESDAY--useful notes to LOOK out for....
We did have our Chinese TEST on TUESDAY! (for those that are absent, I will try and retest them by this week), ALOT of students did so well! :):):) Many of them remember yellow as HUANG se instead of Kwang se! Thank you for revising with them.
Notes I took from the Chinese test:
- Some children do NOT know how to write their numbers, for example the number 12, they write it as 21 (which is considered wrong, as it is a different number). [ for this test, just this time only, I will considered them correct! BUT in the future tests, it is considered incorrect!)
See below for more examples! ( the ones written in purple are the correct/actual numbers but the ones in red are the mistakes.
Please help me PRACTICE their numbers with them at home!
MATHS!--- We started doing our maths --YUP!- number representation since Monday but counting was done on the 2nd day of school, a lot of the children are so good in maths-YAY~!, there are some that needed extra help. When we do our TEN FRAMES, I realized there are 3 groups that the children belong to:
group 1: know wu= 5 which also means putting five dots into their ten frames
group 2: know wu=5 but they put the wrong amount in the ten frames
group 3: do NOT know how much wu is, hence they end up guessing and putting the wrong amount in the frames.
I will continue to practice with them but Please revise with them their numbers, (see blog post-audio clip on counting 1-10) as we will be having a number test soon! More details to come!
Thank you again for being a great support!
If you have any questions, Please always feel free to talk to me or drop by!!
JACKETS!!!!----Please remember to send your child/children with jackets, it was raining today and some children were shivering without their jackets. Even if they stay indoors, it still gets cold, especially in the computer labs and the hallways etc...
NEW POLICY, if they forget their jackets, they can no longer call home, because the office is too busy. They have to stay indoors
